History:

The first church at Saint David’s was built in 1640, serving as a place of worship for the Anglican settlers in Barbados. Later, in 1789, the church was reconstructed and the current building was completed in 1822. The church is named after Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, in recognition of the many Welsh settlers who arrived on the island in the 17th century. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Barbados.
