It was founded in the mid 1700s by the British Methodist missionaries, who brought their faith to the island nation. History:

Ebenezer Methodist Church was founded in 1784 by Dr. Thomas Coke. He was a missionary sent to Barbados by the British Methodist Episcopal Church to convert the island’s people to Methodism. The church was initially known as the District of the Barbados Mission, and its meetinghouse was located near the Barbados Airport. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Barbados.
