Mount Tabor Moravian Church in Barbados is believed to be the oldest Moravian church in Barbados. It was built in 1806 and is located in the parish of St. Joseph, nestled between the towering hills of the East Coast of the parish. Its iconic red steeple has become an essential part of the Barbados skyline. The original church was built by African slaves and has been lovingly preserved over the centuries. The church was acquired by the Moravian Church in 1847 and officially dedicated on April 21, 1848. The church is still active today and services are held every Sunday. Its bell has been ringing in the parish for over two hundred years, calling worshippers to attend service and to reaffirm their faith.
