Brief History:

The Shahbaz Khan Mosque is located in the city of Rajshahi in Bangladesh. Constructed in 1681, it was one of the few surviving pre-Mughal monuments in the city. The mosque was built by a subedar of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, Shahbaz Khan Jang. He was the subedar of Bengal from 1679 to 1697 and it is believed he built this mosque in the memory of his father Hasan Khan Jang, who had died in 1680. Unfortunately, most of the mosque’s monumental features have been lost and its original structure is not visible any longer. The Shahbaz Khan Mosque is built with brick terracotta decorations in its walls and arches and is a fine example of Bengal Sultanate architecture. It is one of the most famous mosque in Bangladesh which you must visit.

The Shahbaz Khan Mosque, located in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, is a large mosque built in the 17th century. The mosque is notable for its impressive Indo-Saracenic architecture. It is believed to have been built by Shahbaz Khan, the governor of Bengal during the Mughal era. The mosque is built on a raised platform with a square base that measures 13.7 meters. The mosque has a large central courtyard surrounded by an arcade of four small arches. The mosque also contains three domes, each of which is supported by two minarets. The main prayer hall of the mosque has four arches supported by six large pillars. These pillars are decorated with Byzantine arabesque designs and inscribed inscriptions in Persian. The mosque also has an intricate floral carving in stucco above the main door. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
