Brief History:

Lohagara Jame Mosque is one of the oldest monuments in Narail of Bangladesh. It was built by one of the local rulers of the Mughal Empire during the reign of Sultan Mahmud Khan in 1664 AD. The mosque is a large two storey structure built out of clay and iron bricks and consists of five domes erected above the main prayer hall. The mosque has several mihrabs and a courtyard containing a large pond known as the ‘Lohangan’. The area around the mosque is well known for its recreational facilities.
