St. Erordutyun Church is a medieval Armenian church, located in the town of Ashtarak in Armenia’s Armavir Province. It is believed to have been built in the seventh century and retains its original architectural features. The church is listed as a national cultural monument of Armenia.

History:
St. Erordutyun Church is believed to have been built in 630 AD by prince Abas, who dedicated it to his mother. According to local legend, the prince had a dream in which his mother told him to build a church in her name. After the church was completed, it was consecrated and dedicated to St. Erordutyun, a saint of local repute. The church has had several restorations over the centuries, culminating in a major renovation in 1984 in which the roof and interior were updated. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Armenia.
