Nor Varagavank In Armenia: History,Facts, & Services
Nor Varagavank is an Armenian Orthodox monastery situated in the Tavush Region of Armenia. An ancient inscription on its wall serves as a witness to its foundation in the 9th century by King Smbat Bagratuni and his brother Ashot Bagratuni. The monastery underwent many renovations and rebuilding of its structures over the centuries up to the 19th century. In addition to its religious significance, it has served as an educational and cultural center since the 11th century, with numerous manuscripts and books preserved in its library. Its beautiful architecture and majestic nature attract many visitors and pilgrims. Its main services include church services, cultural events and historical preservation of the monastery.
