Hell's Gate is one of the many scenic and historic attractions located on the Caribbean island of Antigua-and-Barbuda. The area is located 30 km south of the capital, Saint John's. The most distinguishing feature of this historical landmark is the two-meter wide natural limestone archway which sits low on the rocky shore. It gets its name due to the strong currents and powerful undertow since it is located between the two little bays known as 'Nonsuch Bay' and 'Cades Bay'. Hell's Gate National Park is located just south of the town of English Harbour and is surrounded by historical and cultural sites, such as Gambles Fort, Ffreyes Beach, and the historic Shannon, Mongs and Blucher Estates.
