History:

is situated at a distance of about 60 kilometers from Hyderabad city. The temple is located at the foothills of Yadagirigutta and is a popular pilgrimage center. It is believed that Sri Yadagiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy appeared to sage Yadarishi and blessed him with divine vision. The temple is maintained and managed by the Muqtapidhi Endowment department of the Government of Telangana. It is interesting to note that the name of the temple was 'Gururaj Kshetram' initially and then changed to 'Yadagirigutta'. According to the legends, the temple is about 1500 years old. The worship of Narasimha Swamy Temple, located in Yadagirigutta in Andhra-Pradesh, follows the traditional Hindu style of temple worship. Devotees perform the mandatory 'poojas', offer prayers and perform 'archana', sing hymns, and chant Vedic mantras. Special offerings are made to the deity, including flowers, sandalwood paste, vermillion, camphor, incense, and fruits. Poojas and rituals are performed as per the temple guidelines.
