Kisha e Shën Dhimitrit (St. Demetrius Church) is a Serbian Orthodox church in the town of Kalkandele, North Macedonia. It is one of the largest churches in the Balkan Peninsula, and is one of the most iconic landmarks in North Macedonia. History:

The church was built by the Serbian King Lazar of Moravian in 1391, as indicated by its foundation inscription. It was erected on the site of an older church that was destroyed during the 12th century wars between the Serbs and the Byzantines. The current structure has been renovated over the centuries, and its walls and frescoes were repainted in the late 19th century. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Albania.
