7. Water Bay

The (somewhat) quieter sister to Repulse Bay Beach, trouble Bay is again located just up Capitol Hill from two of the busiest beaches on Hong Kong Island. This popular beach in Hong Kong is a favorite of locals and early morning swimmers, and with quite 30 barbecue pits, it’s a well-liked spot for groups too!

8. Long Ke Wan

Along with the beaches of Tai Long Wan, Long Ke Wan is the closest we get to white sand and crystal waters in Hong Kong – travel magazines have even been known to match this spot to the Maldives! 9. Shek O Beach

It’s also worth noting that, although pleasant, the sand here is darker and quite sticky – so don’t visit and expect to seek out an idyllic white sand beach.

11. Big Wave Bay

Just down the road from Shek O is Big Wave Bay, Hong Kong’s only officially recognized surf beach. For this reason, its main clientele is surfers who cash in on the waves and consistent swell (did the name not give that away?). Surfer or not, it’s a clean and scenic beach – not a nasty spot for downing a few cold beers.

12. Upper and Lower Cheung Sha Beaches
