Popular travel show ‘Car and Country’ to be shot in Kerala

Synopsis: According to reports, UK’s famous adventure travel show ‘Car and Country’ is going to be shot in Kerala. The show is a hit in Europe, and now it is coming to India in collaboration with Kerala tourism

Thanks to a worldwide OTT program, a group of vivacious young Britishers is getting ready to set fire to the streets of Kerala. According to reports, the popular European TV series ‘Car and Country’’s crew is coming to Kerala. It will be staged in partnership with Kerala Tourism, which has grabbed the chance to aggressively sell the southern state on the internet platform.

It was said that Porsches and other supercars would race through the lush vegetation of southern India for the next episode of the Car and Country series. This would be the first time the show was filmed outside of Europe. Porsche SUVs Macan and Cayenne, as well as Porsche Track Version GT Vehicles, Porsche Electric Taycans, and more, will be among the whizzing vehicles. As soon as they leave this area, the racers will enter the Gulf region.

Deepak Narendran and Ashique Thahir, both from Kerala, are the drivers of this daring "rush," along with Freddie Hunt, a professional racer and the son of the great 1976 Formula One World Champion James Hunt. other people joining them will be Paul Richards, Charlotte Fantelli, Paddy King, Sammy Seeley, Ken Clay, Adam Bertenshaw, Amy Holiday, Aimee Watts, Malcolm Targett, Preetham Madhavan, and Marion Ferg.

The team had so far traveled to England, France, and Scotland to shoot the previous season of the series. After two months on Amazon Prime UK's over-the-top (OTT) platform, viewers have had the chance to go on thrilling adventures through these beautiful byways. The new season will feature Kalarippayattu, Kathakali, houseboats, snake boat races, local specialties, the majesty of hills, backwaters, paddy fields, tea plantations, and more.

According to the statement, Kerala Tourism Minister Muhammed Riyas's keen interest has led the show to brilliantly showcase God's Own Country. Ashique from Kozhikode, who loves supercars, can't hide his excitement about joining the Car and Country Rush elite league.

Our supercars let us experience the charming European landscape, rural communities, cultures, and cuisine. "Now we are happy to turn the world's attention toward this green-tinged-state's natural brilliance," said Charlotte Fantelli.

Two famous production houses, Branded Studios and Searchlight Productions are going to shoot the informative, adventurous, and entertaining journey of the cast. Deepak Narendran, a Kochi native living in the UK, launched the show in 2014, and Ashique joined him in later episodes. The series returned last year after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

Ashique said, "The last episode was difficult to shoot." We slept in tents in snowy mountains in extreme weather. "We had to go wild river rafting in bad weather and off-road with the car."

Car and Country were first shown on Fox International, and Emirates, Star TV, National Geographic, and Star Health were among the first sponsors. The show has since gone on to be broadcast on Fox International multiple times. According to the statement, after seeing how well the show would work on Amazon Prime UK in the later episodes, the two decided to move it there.

This international project in collaboration with Kerala Tourism will boost tourism in Kerala. Previously, Kerala was only considered the best destination for honeymoons in India, but after the successful launch of this show, the image of Kerala will improve among travelers.
