The Shri Jagannath Bhajan Centre of Port Louis in Mauritius practises a rich worship tradition which involves a range of devotional activities, such as bhajans, stotras and aartis. Bhajans, or devotional songs, are sung in the morning as a way of paying homage to Lord Jagannath; this is done in a group setting with everyone joining in the singing. After this, a puja involving chanting of the invocations and stotras (hymns) follows, to make offerings and receive blessings from the Lord. After the puja, aartis (hymns of praise) are also sung.
