Chapelle Notre Dame De Lourdes is a historic church located in the city of Lourdes in southwestern France. It was built between 1857 and 1858 to commemorate the various visions and miracles associated with the Virgin Mary at Lourdes that happened during 1858. It is known to serve as a place of pilgrimage for thousands of pilgrims and tourists who come to Lourdes each year. The Chapel is part of the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes and was recently named a UNESCO World Heritage site. History:

The present church was built in the mid-19th century. Before that, the site had a cross erected by Bernadette Soubirous in 1865 which served as a symbol of her visions of the Virgin Mary at that location. This structure was replaced by the original chapel in 1872 and in 1889 the building was extended by adding the transept, creating the cruciform architecture.
