History:

is an archaeological site located in the Yucatan Peninsula, just north of the city of Chichen Itza. It was a trading center for Maya merchants and artisans in the late Postclassic period (1000-1539 A.D.). Archaeologists believe it was occupied between about 1300-1500 A.D., though clay artifacts at the site have been dated to as early as 200 A.D. The ruins of Yaxuna are spread over a large, mostly unexcavated area and are scattered throughout a semi-jungle landscape. Yaxuna was a main port for the trade of goods such as jade, obsidian, cotton and pottery between the Maya people and other Mesoamerican cultures. The various buildings at the site include two large pyramids, a number of temples, and several other structures, all of which are surrounded by a series of terraced plazas. Yaxuna is also known for its unique stelae, or inscribed stones, that contain information about the Maya rulers and events that occurred at the site. Yaxuna is currently an open-air archaeological museum, and visitors can explore the ruins and learn about Maya culture. It is one of the best temple in Mexico which you must visit.

Worship Method:

The people of Yaxuna do not have a particular method of worship used at the archaeological site. However, the site is home to many ancient Mayan ruins which are commonly associated with religious ceremonies and offerings. It is believed by some that the people of Yaxuna used to make offerings to their gods or to ask for protection or good luck with their daily activities. Symbolic offerings or rituals may have taken place within the ruins, such as dancing and singing, as were common ceremonies during the time. The gods would be addressed through prayers and pleas. Some speculate that offerings were made to the gods in the form of food, incense, and other gifts. Evidence of such offerings is still visible today although it is not clear who or what these offerings were made to. It is likely that the remnants of the ancient Mayans remain in Yaxuna and could still be actively practiced. This most visited temple in Mexico
