The Methodist Church in Ireland is the Irish connection of the international family of the United Methodist Church. The Church has it roots in the Wesleyan Methodist revival of the 18th century and was established as an autonomous church in 1796. In its day-to-day work the Church offers a wide range of services to its congregations, including pastoral care, children and youth work, evangelism, mission and outreach. All of these activities are aimed at deepening the spiritual life of the local church and helping it to grow and reach out to others.
