Worship Method:
The Temple of Seti I is an ancient structure located in Abydos, Egypt. The temple was dedicated to the worship of the Pharaoh Seti I. As with other Egyptian temples, worship at the Temple of Seti I revolved around the cult of the Pharaoh. Offerings could be made to the Pharaoh’s temple either through prayers or sacrifices. One way that would have been practiced was pouring a libation such as wine onto the ground outside the temple. This would have been done as an offering to the gods and to honor the Pharaoh. One particular form of offering practiced by the ancient Egyptians was the "Heb Sed" or "following of the King". This was a series of rituals that would were performed in order to rejuvenate the Pharaoh’s power. It would involve the Pharaoh running around the walls of the temple several times before then cleansing the temple and himself with water from the Nile. The Heb Sed was performed by the Pharaoh after a certain number of years in order to ensure that he remained strong and healthy. The Temple of Seti I is also believed to have been a center of astronomical observation. Ancient Egyptians would observe the night sky for signs from the gods and use that information to inform their daily lives. The temple would have been used to observe how the stars, sun, and other celestial bodies moved. This information would then be used for predicting the flooding of the Nile and other natural phenomena in their environment. In conclusion, the Temple of Seti I was important for worshiping the Pharaoh, making offerings, and observing occult phenomena in the night sky. This most visited temple in Egypt
