The Temple of Ramesses III at Medinet Habu is an ancient temple located in Luxor, Egypt. Built during the New Kingdom period (c. 1550–1069 BC), it is situated on the west bank of the Nile River in the Theban necropolis, across from modern day Luxor. The temple, built by Ramesses III and dedicated to the god Amun-Re, is one of the best-preserved monuments of Ancient Egypt and is renowned for its relief sculptures and its inscriptions. It is one of the largest and most impressive temples in Egypt, with a design based on both the Middle and New Kingdom Temples of Amun. In addition to religious services and rituals, the temple provided accommodation and healthcare for pilgrims and was an important center of trade and administration. It was also an important site of archaeological discovery, with many finds of Ancient Egyptian artifacts and inscriptions taking place there.
