The Temple of Juno Lucina in Rome was a temple dedicated to the Roman goddess Juno Lucina, the goddess of childbirth, fertility and women. This temple was one of the oldest temples in Rome, built in the fifth century BC by King Servius Tullius. Worship at the temple was conducted according to the Roman religion of the time. At the Temple of Juno Lucina, Romans would venerate the goddess with offerings of fruits, grains and vegetables, as well as financial offerings. They would also pray for the goddess to bestow fertility on women and ease childbirth pains. Women who had given birth would bring a portion of the baby’s first milk and honey to the temple as an offering.
