The temple was built on one level and surrounded by a wall with 16 columns on the main façade. The interior of the temple was composed of a number of rooms, including a hypostyle hall, a sanctuary, and a number of large and small chapels. The temple was abandoned around 1000 BCE, and its ruins were eventually submerged under the waters of Lake Nasser in 1963 when the Aswan High Dam was built. Worship Method:

The worship method practiced in the Temple of Amun at Sedeinga varied over time. During the early Egyptian period, as was typical of other temples, the temple was dedicated to Amun, a major deity in Egyptian mythology, and was regarded as the supreme god of the universe. Sacrifice offerings to Amun were conducted within the temple walls, and these offerings generally included animal and vegetable offerings. Libations were also presented daily, and offerings of food and drink would be prepared and served on a platform outside the temple. During the Libyan period, the cult of Amun-Ra was adopted at Sedeinga, with the temple serving as a center for the god's cult, where pilgrims would visit and offer prayers and seek divine oracles.
