Pyramid of Neferefre at Abusir In Egypt: History,Facts, & Services
Pyramid of Neferefre at Abusir is a partially-intact Egyptian pyramid situated at Abusir necropolis, in the South-Saqqara area of the Memphis region. It is believed to have been built during the Fifth Dynasty, around 2445-2420 BC, for Pharaoh Neferefre, a son of Pharaoh Sahure. The pyramid, which is thought to have been the last pyramid built in Abusir, was not completed and remained a ruin for centuries. In recent years, the pyramid has been excavated and the remains of a funerary temple dedicated to Neferefre have been uncovered. The pyramid was initially discovered in the 1990s and further excavations have revealed details about its structure and features. Other features of interest at the site include a causeway and remnants of a valley temple.
