The National Center for Contemporary Arts (NCCA) is a non-governmental institution that has been actively involved in supporting, developing and promoting the contemporary arts sphere in Russia since its foundation in 1992. Located in the former Soviet Union research pavilion in the Moscow International Trade Center, the NCCA is dedicated to the development of innovative and experimental approaches to art and culture. The center focuses on promoting new media, video and electronic arts, as well as fostering projects that are interdisciplinary in nature. From conferences and seminars to exhibitions, performances, screenings and workshops, the NCCA provides a vibrant space for the contemporary arts. Its network includes over 80 cities in Russia, four international branches and many more affiliations abroad. In addition to these activities, the NCCA coordinates a number of initiatives and educational projects to engage people of all ages in a dialogue with contemporary art.
