The Mosque of Al-Mu’ayyad Sheikh is located in the Islamic Cairo district in Egypt. It was built in 1415 by the Mamluk Sultan Al- Ashraf Sha'ban in memory of Al-Mu’ayyad Sheikh, an Islamic scholar and preacher who was appointed Grand Qadi of Egypt by the Fatimid Caliph Al-Mustansir. The mosque is built in a typical 15th century Mamluk style, with a square courtyard and sahn surrounded by four iPorticoed riwaqs (prayer halls).
