History:
The Moscow International Business Center (MIBC) is a major real estate development project located in the heart of Moscow, Russia. The project is backed by the Russian government with the aim of transforming the city into a world-renowned business hub. Located in the Presnensky District, the project is also known as “Moscow City.” The MIBC project was first conceived in 1992, when Mayor Yuri Luzhkov proposed the creation of a new business center in the western part of the city center. The plan was to create a world-class business hub that could compete with other international business centers such as London’s Canary Wharf or Singapore’s Marina Bay Financial Center. Over the next few years, the government began to invest heavily in the project, providing infrastructure, tax incentives, and other attractive financial arrangements to attract international companies. Several international architectural firms were selected to develop the architectural plans for the MIBC, resulting in a set of unique and iconic buildings. The first phase of the MIBC project was completed in 2006 and included a number of office blocks, hotels, entertainment and shopping centers, and a new television tower. The project has since been expanded to include a large number of new buildings and facilities. These include Moscow’s tallest building, the Federation Tower, as well as several luxury apartment complexes, a convention center, and a sports complex. Today, the Moscow International Business Center is home to a number of international companies, from major financial groups to multinational firms. It has become a major destination for business travelers and continues to draw more and more investment and development every year.
