Khufu Ship is also known as the “Solar Boat of Khufu.” It is a re-created version of the ancient Egyptian ship of pharaoh Khufu. The ship was intended to carry his body in the afterlife and was discovered by a team of archaeologists in 1954 near the Great Pyramid at Giza. It is the only one of its kind ever discovered and is now housed in the Giza Solar Boat Museum.

The original ship was constructed between 2,500 and 2,600 BC by an ancient Egyptian team of shipbuilders. The ship itself is 45.3 meters long and was equipped with two steering devices and two cabins, capable of holding up to 15 crew members. The boat has been re-created with an exact replica and is moored adjacent to the Solar Boat Museum. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Egypt.
