Built in 1958 and dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the church is a fine example of mid-century modern architecture. Serving the local community, the church provides Masses and other services, including baptisms and funerals. It has celebrated several canonisations over the years and hosts a variety of events, religious and otherwise. The parish is known to be the first in Ireland to appoint three female readers, who assist with services.
