Worship Method:

The worship method at the Tripura Sundari Temple in Cooch Behar, West Bengal is based on traditional Hindu rituals, which include puja, chanting of mantras, and offering of bhog (prasad). During the puja, the deity is decorated with flowers, incense, and camphor, and is then offered sweets, fruits, and other offerings. Offerings of panchamrit (a mix of honey, yogurt, and other ingredients) is also performed. Aarti (the worship of the deity with a camphor-wicked lamp) and mala (a necklace of tulasi beads) are also done. The deity is also smeared with sandalwood paste and vermillion. Vishnu Sahasranama is also chanted, and incense and lamps are lit in the deity’s honor. Once the puja is over, the blessings of the deity are sought in the form of prasad. Prasad is usually distributed to devotees after puja, and is believed to be auspicious.
