History:

The temple was established by two Buddhist monks, Thích Thiện Ân and Thích Tài Ý, during the early 1960s after the government of the Republic of Vietnam granted the request of the Unified Buddhist Church of Vietnam to build a major temple in Long An province. The temple was dedicated to Avalokiteshvara or Guanyin, the Chinese bodhisattva of compassion. Its design is an adaptation of Indian and Chinese styles, with domed roofs and elaborately decorated structures. The complex includes two pagodas, a lecture hall, library, and library with more than 1,000 books on various topics related to Buddhism. This library is the only one of its kind in Vietnam.
