History:

Bac Ninh Cathedral was erected by the Dominican Missionary Fathers in 1690 and blessed by the Bishop of Mezzana in northern Italy. It was built near an existing church dedicated to St. Vincent Ferrer. The sanctuary was renovated in 1771 and enlarged in 1790 by the priory of Lazarist Fathers. In 1859, the sanctuary was again rebuilt in the neo-Gothic style with the help of a French architect. In 1934, the sanctuary was renovated and a new bell tower was erected replacing the old one.
