History:

Ba Be National Park is located in Bac Kan Province, Vietnam. It is the largest nature conservation area in Vietnam and the first Tangible Heritage of Mankind recognized by UNESCO. The area was declared a national park in 1992 when it was established as a natural heritage site, covering an area of 8,915 ha of limestone mountains, deep valleys, high cliffs, and a complex of freshwater lakes. The park's landscape is composed of tropical evergreen forest, primary forest, and secondary forest. Numerous species of plants including 318 species of trees, 116 species of orchids and 199 species of bamboos can be found in the park.
