Worship Method:

The Dandeshwar Temple in Dwarahat adheres to the practice of Vaishnavism, an ancient Hindu religious tradition that is centred around the worship of Lord Vishnu and his avatars. The traditional worship method of this temple involves offering prayers to the idols of Lord Vishnu and his consort Goddess Lakshmi. Devotees begin their prayers by chanting ‘Om Namo Narayana’ and then offer oblations like flowers, fruits, incense and water into the deity’s eyes. After the oblations are made, the devotees then make a request seeking the blessings of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi for the fulfilment of their desires. The worship ritual also involves singing devotional songs, chanting mantras and performing aarti, in which a lamp is lit and kept in front of the deities. Once the ritual is completed, prasad (sacred food offering) is distributed to the devotees. This prasad usually includes a variety of dishes such as fruits, milk, payasam (sweet) and vada (savoury). At the end of the worship, devotees complete the ritual by seeking the blessings of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. This most visited temple in Uttarakhand
