History:
Al Hamra Village is a popular tourist destination in Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates. It is best known as one of the earliest settlements in the UAE, and the site of an ancient fort, which was built in the fifteenth century and is still standing today. The area also holds a long and rich cultural heritage, as well as numerous archaeological sites. Before Al Hamra was a village, it was a summer camp site for Bedouin tribesmen coming from the interior of the Arabian Peninsula. In the year 1530, the Al Qasimi Tribe moved into the area and built the great fort that still remains today. Al Hamra was an important trading town that stood on the edge of the desert and was used mainly as an administrative and transport hub. In the 1700s, Al Hamra was an important port city and was the starting point of the overland route from Germany to India. This route eventually helped open up trade links between the Middle East, India, and Europe, leading to more interaction between these far-flung places. In 1820, the British forces took control of the area and began building the present-day Al Hamra Village. In 1921, the Al Qasimi ruler Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr al Qasimi moved the ruling court from Al Hamra to nearby Ras Al Khaimah, thus Al Hamra Village lost its status as the administrative capital of the emirate. In the 1960s, Al Hamra Village began to experience an influx of Westerners, especially Europeans. This caused Al Hamra Village to gain some international recognition as a tourist destination. Throughout the 1990s and the 2000s, Al Hamra Village has become a major tourist destination in the UAE, with a wide range of accommodations and activities. Today, Al Hamra Village is a popular tourist destination, featuring a range of attractions such as a large beach, the old fort, an archaeological museum, and nearby wetlands filled with a variety of bird species. Visitors to Al Hamra Village can also take part in activities such as watersports, camel rides, and dune bashing. There are also a range of restaurants, hotels, and shops, making it an ideal destination for those wishing to experience the UAE’s unique culture and heritage. You must visit one of these historical places in UAE on your UAE tour
