The name SALEM is derived from the acronym “Simplification of Agriculture, Life and Education in Mission”. The church was established by seven US Methodists in 1966 to tackle the spiritual, educational and developmental needs of the people of Togo. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Togo.
