History:
is a Buddhist temple in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. It is situated on top of a hill overlooking the Mae Klong River. The temple was originally known as "Wat Khao Ko" and was built in 1663. Built by two monks, it was then known as "Wat Suan Than" or "Garden of Purity". The temple was reconstructed during the reign of Rama V and is now the most important temple in the Kanchanaburi province. Worship Method:
The worship method at Wat Suan Tan in Thailand is based on the traditional Theravada school of Buddhism. The main activity in the temple is the Morning and Evening Alms Round, or Kathina. During this ceremony, the temple members go out and offer food, clothing, and other items to the local residents. Other activities at the temple include daily chanting, meditation, and semimonthly ceremonies for the Buddha and other gods. Most visitors to the temple will also take part in the Offering of Three Robes Ceremony. The journey takes around 4.5 hours from Bangkok. By Bus: There are buses from Bangkok's Mo Chit Bus Station to Si Sa Ket Province, with some options directly to Wat Suan Tan. The journey takes about 6 hours.
