Wat Chetiyaphum (Phra That Kham Kaen) is located in the small city of Kham Kaen, about 433 km from Bangkok. The best way to reach the temple from Bangkok is by car or bus as the journey takes around 6–8 hours. If travelling by car, you can take the 1st Ring Road towards the North and then Highway 2 (Mittraphap Road) towards Nong Khai province. Once in Nong Khai, take Highway 2 eastwards until you reach Highway 12 and drive in the direction of the city of Udon Thani and Kham Kaen.
