The temple is famous for its daily worship rituals and conventions. A combination of both Vedic and Agamic rituals are performed in the temple. The temple has a unique system of daily worshipping that includes several offerings, like milk, yogurt, turmeric, holy water, etc. Its Swayamvaramsala mandapam (worship hall) is a symbolic representation of the divine wedding of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. This is one of the major attractions here, and it is believed that anyone visiting this temple will be blessed with a happy married life. A significant part of the daily worship is the ‘homa’ or ‘sacrifice’, where the priest offers fruits, flowers and five kinds of grains to the Lord. Coffee, saffron and ghee are offered as ‘abhishekams’ to the presiding deity. The temple is also known for its unique musical offerings. Vedic chants and songs are played on traditional instruments like the mridanga, veda and Nagaras, in praise of Lord Shiva.
