Worship Method:
The worship method for Veeramalai Vairavar Temple is done in accordance with agama scriptures and is based on Saivite tradition. This includes daily Puja and Abhishekhams, as well as specific rituals such as Chandi Homam, Ganapathy Homam, Navagraham Puja and other specific offerings. The main temple priest known as the Head priest also performs Navarathri Puja (nine day festival to invoke Goddess Chandi) on Chandi Amavasya during which hundreds of devotees gather to participate in the rituals and seek blessings. Festivals such as Karthikai Deepam (in December) and Mahashivarathri (in February-March) are celebrated with great enthusiasm. Devotees perform deeparadhanai (lighting of lamps) and make offerings of flowers, fruits and other items to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, in order to receive his blessings.
