St. Mary's Cathedral Jaffna is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. It was initially built in 1705, then destroyed by colonial forces in 1658, and rebuilt by the French missionary priest Fr. Pierre Appar in 1876. The cathedral is the largest church in Northern Sri Lanka and one of the largest in the country.

St. Mary's Cathedral was built in 1705, and then destroyed in 1658 when Portuguese forces invaded Jaffna. After its destruction, no attempts were made to rebuild the cathedral until 1876 when Fr. Pierre Appar, a French missionary priest, took the initiative and rebuilt the cathedral in its present form. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Srilanka.
