Worship Method:

Sri Rukmani Saththiyapamaa sametha Sri Paarththa Saarathi Thirowpathaiamman is commonly worshiped in Udappu, Sri Lanka, by offering special pujas, chariots, processions, and so on. The main ritual is the Thira paattu, or "Chanting of Medicinal Herbs", done to appease the goddess and asking her for health and protection. During the procession, devotees carry clay lamps and kavadi, and decorate the kavadi with medicinal herbs, fruits, mochai, kaipari, and festival flags. The procession, led by temple priests, proceeds from the temple to an addressing hall where devotees will receive blessings from the goddess. After this, the devotees will take the kavadi back to the temple where offerings will be made to the goddess. Then, special and traditional mantras and poojas will be made by the devotees. This puja will then be followed by a grand arati where the kavadi will be thrown into the fire. The poojas will end with special pongal and neivedyam offerings to the goddess. This will be followed by traditional dance performances and music.
