The Sri Papathi Amman Temple, Colombo in Sri Lanka follows a Shaivite form of Hinduism and adheres to the puja vidhanam (worship procedure) of Tamil Shaivite tradition. The temple has a traditional gopuram (tower shrine) and the murti (image) of the presiding deity, Papathi Amman, is housed in the sanctum sanctorum (innermost chamber).
