By Car: Kuliwata Siva Temple can be reached from Colombo in about 3 hours by taking the Colombo-Kandy highway (A1). Take the exit at Kitalawila Junction and continue on to Hatton for about 21 km. Turn north on to Railway Avenue and continue for about 11 km to reach Kuliwata Siva temple. By Train: The nearest train station to the temple is Kitalawila Junction which is 8 km from the temple. Frequent trains run from Colombo Fort to Kitalawila. From there, visitors can board a bus or take a tuk tuk or a taxi to reach the temple. By Bus: Kuliwata Siva Temple can be reached by public bus from a number of nearby towns including Hatton, Kitalawila, Dickoya, Talawakele, Belihuloya, and Nawalapitiya.
