National Christian Assemblies of Sri Lanka is an umbrella organization of Churches in Sri Lanka established in 1963. It is a non-profit and non-political organization that seeks to bring about unity among the various denominations of the Christian Church in Sri Lanka and to contribute to the social, economic and religious advancement of the Christian community. It is the largest inter-denominational organization of churches in the country, representing 28 denominations from all walks of life. The Assembly is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission to witness to the truth of salvation in Jesus Christ, breaking down the barriers of denominationalism and promoting social justice, education and good governance. Through its numerous programmes, it has been at the forefront of socio-cultural development, building bridges between the different communities in the country and working for the betterment of all Sri Lankans, regardless of religion. The Assembly also works to help promote Christian values and strengthen families in Sri Lanka, as well as supporting community-based initiatives that address poverty, health and education.
