Church of St. Margaret of Antioch, Kopčany In Slovakia: History,Facts, & Services
History:
The earliest surviving records of the Church of St. Margaret of Antioch date back to 1538, when it was part of the parish of Svatá Margarita in Žilina. In the middle of the 16th century, the church was renovated in order to give it a Gothic style. In the 18th century, a new sanctuary was constructed and alterations were made to the exterior of the building. In 1823 and 1841, further restorations were carried out and a bell tower was built. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Slovakia.
