St Stephen's Church Inverness In Scotland: History,Facts, & Services
History:
Before the current St Stephen's Church was built, a much smaller wooden building was created on the same site in 1940, after the original St Stephen's Church, built in 1793, was destroyed by bombing during World War II. This building was later replaced, in March 1972 with the existing stone church. St Stephen's Church Inverness in Scotland This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Scotland.

The current building of St Stephen's Church in Inverness was designed by Glasgow firm, Reid-Storrar Campbell Reid & Partners, and completed in 1972. It is built almost entirely out of a type of pink-stained Ballymena sandstone. The church contains two stained glass windows and a large mosaic behind the altar. The church serves the local community and provides a wide range of services to its members such as worship, outreach activities, Bible study, children’s ministries, youth group meetings, and more.
