Scotland's Churches Trust is a charity and conservation trust that works to save Scotland's churches and other places of worship. The trust was established in 2015 to maintain these buildings, secure their futures, and promote Scotland's religious and architectural heritage. As of 2021, the trust is comprised of over 900 member churches and chapels from the Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish faiths. The Trust is a Registered Charity (No. SC046042) and a Company Limited by Guarantee. The Trust is governed by a Board of Trustees, a Patron, and may also appoint advisors. Its mission is “to maintain the condition of historic churches and chapels in Scotland to serve the needs of worshippers, visitors and the wider community”. It is in the unique position to be able to provide conservation advice and grants to churches, chapels and chapels of ease to help fund vital conservation works. The Trust also provides guidance on fundraising methods and links local churches with relevant funding and grant opportunities.
