Scone Old Parish Church in Scotland is one of the earliest churches in Scotland. It was built around the middle of the 12th century and is an excellent example of Early Christian architecture. It is located in the small village of Scone, just outside of Perth. The church is built from stone and has remained largely unchanged since it was first built, making it the oldest still standing Christian place of worship in Scotland. The Church holds services throughout the year and is renowned for its ancient atmosphere and setting. It also offers visitors a chance to view the historic cemetery which surrounds the building, as well as the carved Pictish stones which can be found within the cemetery. Many of these stones date from as early as the 8th century and provide a fascinating insight into the history of the area.
