Cille Choirill Church In Scotland is a former medieval parish church located near the village of St Fillans in Perthshire, Scotland. The church is one of the most important early churches in the Scottish Highlands. It is believed to have been built around 1200. It is thought to be a remnant of an old Celtic religious site. The church is credited with being the oldest church still in use in Scotland. It is also part of a scheduled ancient monument. The church's history is linked to the settlement of the area around the church by the MacNab Clan in the 13th century, who were a powerful family in the area. The church was originally a Roman Catholic Church before it became a Presbyterian Church in the 16th century. The church is home to a number of interesting features, including an ancient Pictish stone, a bell classed as being of national importance, and a 15th century bone box. Inside the church, visitors will discover a number of interesting features, including twobronze bells, a 17th century baptismal font, and a unique 15th century effigy of a knight. The Church also contains an old burial ground with graves dating back to the 11th century. The services at Cille Choirill Church In Scotland are traditional Presbyterian services on the second and fourth Sunday of every month. On the first and third Sundays of the month, there are ecumenical services which are conducted in both English and Gaelic. There are also special services held throughout the year such as Christmas, Easter, Remembrance Sunday, and Harvest.
