Carloway Church In Scotland is a 12th century parish church located in the village of Carloway overlooking the Isle of Lewis in Scotland. Its history can be traced back to at least the 13th century, when it was established by the Norse-speaking people. It is a simple rectangular building constructed of dry stone, with an open bell tower at the western end. The interior of the church houses a 19th century communion table and two mural tablets, both dating back to the 19th century. The churchyard also contains a number of ancient gravestones and monuments. Services at Carloway Church are held once a month, and the church is sometimes used for baptisms and weddings. It is open to the public on a regular basis and is also home to a number of community events throughout the year, including a Midsummer Night Festival.
