The mosque is a single-domed structure with a single minaret, and houses multiple prayer halls and a sahn (courtyard) where worshippers can congregate. The prayer chambers are air-conditioned and carpeted, and the enclosure has a low ceiling of low-relief stucco plaster finials. The walls of the enclosure are decorated with traditional arabesque motifs, and the Islamic carvings in precious stones honor the 92 chapters of the Quran. The facade of the mosque displays intricate fretwork patterns. The mosque compound includes a library and a Koranic learning center, a restaurant and a lecture room. The mosque is easily accessible by car and there is a bus station nearby. The nearest airport is King Khalid International Airport (RUH), which is located approximately 45 kilometers northeast of the mosque. To get to Masjid al-Raqi from the airport by car, take the KKIA Exit (Exit 15) off King Fahd Road. Follow King Fahd Road for roughly 45 kilometers until you reach Rawdah District, then turn left onto Al Jazirah Highway. Follow Al Jazirah Highway for 3 kilometers and take the first right after the Jeep Traffic Light, onto Yarmouk Street. Follow Yarmouk Street for 1.5 kilometers and turn left onto Salem Street. Follow Salem Street until you reach Masjid al-Raqi. The nearest public bus station is around 1.5 kilometers from the mosque and is located at the corner of Salem and Al Iskan streets.
