dates back to 1895 when the first church was built in the Aleipata District. The church was established by Reverend Samuela Manoa and Sydney Missionary Society as an Indigenous Pentecostal movement. The church was later re-named as New Testament Church of God when they were officially registered with the government in 1962. In the late 1980s The Body of Christ Church Of Samoa established itself in the community, developed its own doctrine and is today a major influence in its community. The church has over 10,000 church members from across Samoa and influenced many people across the Pacific region. 1. The First Body of Christ Church of Samoa (FCCS) was founded in Apia by Pastor J.T. Udofia in September 1906. 2. The first church in Samoa was the FBCS Bethel in Nuuuli, Apia. 3. Several other churches soon followed: FBCS Paulaula (1907), FBCS Siaili (1908), and FBCS Matatufu (1910). 4. By 1913, the membership of the FBCS had grown to over 500, making it one of the largest churches in Samoa. 5. The church has since grown to over 14,000 members and 56 churches located in 21 of the 14 Samoan islands. 6. The church is home to many active ministries and fellowships including Sunday School, Youth, Women’s, Men’s, Music, and Missions. 7. The FBCS is an independent denomination, and is self-governed by a General Assembly. 8. The denomination is supported by hundreds of congregations throughout the world, and has branches in countries such as the United States, Australia and New Zealand. 9.
